Grade Card Match Rules
Special Mail-In Offer
If you have questions, please call Maggie Engel at (419)
893-2170 x 270.
Objectives: to build a relationship with youth;
to encourage educational achievement; to teach the benefits
of and encourage a long-term savings habit; to encourage
family membership.
- Program valid for K-12 members in good standing.
- The deposit match is one dollar for each "A" or "A"
equivalent (Exceeding Expectations; S+, O for
Outstanding, Excellent) on any subject up to a total of
five dollars per grade card and per official grading
period (timeframe).
- "Effort" or "Conduct" grades do not count. Mid-term,
exam or interim grades or outdated cards are not
eligible. The deposit must be made and the match request
sent to Sun Federal within one month of the report card
date. There is a limit of four matches per calendar year
per child.
- Submit the original receipt showing your deposit
into the child's account and a copy of the most recent
(date current) grade card clearly showing the child's
name and the date:
- By Mail:

- By Email:

- At Your Local Branch
Children's deposits into a 42-month add-on
certificate are eligible and encouraged for a higher
savings yield. (While direct deposit from a parent's
payroll is a great way to contribute to your child's
future, this program is to encourage each child to
develop a SAVINGS HABIT and Credit Union relationship
individually with your child, therefore direct deposits
& automatic transfers do not count.)
- Money deposited must remain in the account prior to
the matching deposit. (For your child's benefit, we hope
it stays even longer and continues to grow with the
magic of compounding interest!) Please think of this as
similar to a company sponsored 401K plan. (By the time
your child reaches adulthood and becomes employed, our
mission is that we've helped them to understand why they
should participate in a company sponsored 401K plan
where they may realize a 100% return on their
investment! We hope to help them achieve financial savvy
and independence)
- Please think of this as similar to a dividend and
allow up to 6 to 8 weeks for the matching deposit. The
Credit Union will post matches once each month during
the school year. Please remember to take the mail into
consideration as well as timing.
- The child must be the primary member on the account,
with the appropriate social security number, date of
birth, etc.
- Grade cards must be from an accredited school and
for an official and current grading term. Mid-term,
interim or outdated cards are not eligible.
- Sun Federal reserves the right to take children of
"special needs" into consideration differently. Parents:
please include a note with the grade card and receipt.
