Vishing Attacks Increase
A Message From The FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center

Are you one of many who have received an e-mail, text message, or telephone call, purportedly from your credit card/debit card company directing you to contact a telephone number to reactivate your card due to a security issue? The IC3 has received multiple reports on different variations of this scheme known as "vishing". These attacks against US financial institutions and consumers continue to rise at an alarming rate.

Fraud Alert For Members!
Sun Federal would like to warn members of a current telephone phishing scam. Several members have received a phone call stating "this is Sun Federal calling to let you know that your Visa Credit Card or ATM Check Card account has been suspended." Members are then directed to call a 515-414-xxxx (last 4 digits vary) telephone number to reactivate the account. This is a scam! Please DO NOT call the 515 number.

This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Maria Fanelli Levine and her legacy. The trustees of the Maria Fanelli Levine Memorial Scholarship are proud to announce the eighth annual scholarship available to Sun Federal Credit Union members or their children. Three scholarships (1-$1,500, 1-$1,000, 1-$500) will be awarded to a member or their child who is a qualified high school senior or current college student. The scholarship will be awarded for expenses related to attending any accredited college or university.

Maria Fanelli Levine was a valuable employee of Sun Federal Credit Union for 12 years. She took great pride in working as the Accounting Manager and enjoyed leading the people who worked with her and for her. Maria passed away in October of 1997. She is remembered as a warm, giving, humble person. Her smile, silent strength and integrity have guided many in their big and little endeavors. This scholarship trust was established to honor the memory of Maria Fanelli Levine, and her legacy.

Application must be received by January 31, 2008.
The winner will be announced at Sun Federal's Annual Meeting Celebration on Saturday, April 19, 2008.

Northwest Chapter of Credit Unions Scholarships
The Northwest Chapter of Credit Unions would like you to apply for a scholarship. There will be two scholarships awarded – one each in amounts of $2,000 and $1500.

The information and essay answer you provide will help us to decide the recipients of this spring's awards. If you are chosen to receive the $2,000 scholarship from the Northwest Chapter, your application will then be submitted to the statewide scholarship program sponsored by the Ohio Credit Union League. At the state level five scholarships worth $2,500 each will be awarded.

The scholarships will be awarded for expenses related to attending post high school educational programs.

Application and essay must be received by March 3, 2008.
