What is Overdraft Privilege??
- A financial resource that
can cover your overdraft checks, transactions made using
your checking account number and automatic bill payments
- It can also be used for ATM transactions and ATM Visa Check Card purchases if you authorize us to do so
- It is a convenient safety net to help you with
unexpected financial needs
- A valuable enhancement to your
relationship
- Not a promise, but a privilege,
to you our member!
We can save you the expense and embarrassment of having your checks returned or transactions declined. The Overdraft Privilege
does just that.
As long as you maintain your account in good standing,
Sun Federal may elect to pay your overdraft checks and/or transactions rather than returning them unpaid.
You will be charged service fees for insufficient funds as appropriate. Checks, electronic transactions and automatic bill pay items that are paid through Overdraft Privilege enable you to avoid the additional expense of another fee charged by the business to whom the check
or item was returned.
How can I get Overdraft Privilege?
You do not have to do anything other than keep making deposits to your
checking account — what could be easier?
(After August 15, 2010: You must tell us if you want Privilege to also authorize ATM transactions and ATM Visa Check Card purchases.)
What happens if I make mistakes?
We have a program for you to be able to continue to use your checking account with us while you cover your overdraft amount. We want to keep you as a
member and to help you repay any outstanding amount. Ask one of our
Member Service Representatives about how we can help.
